427. Modest Mouse - good news for people who love bad news

Someday we'll recognize this album as a great tribute pop album by Modest Mouse - a tribute to all the pop songs that we love and hate, crafted by a band that naturally escapes any sort of classification. But for now it will probably be seen by some as a crossover album or a summer single... a shame.

Jazz said...: Well said Meadows - but what is the difference really between a crossover album or an album that crossed over? They both end up in the same place. Was Nevermind a crossover album? Or an album that crossed over? It depends which audience member you ask - some guy might say that Bleach isn't accessible at all where Nevermind is - you might say that Nevermind was just a logical progression and happened to appeal to the mainstream.
