The problem with this album is that it doesn't really go anywhere. The pretty guitar chords, thick distortion and whisper like vocals are mismanaged, not used to their fullest potential. The songs are deliberately slowly paced and the vocals just yawn along. Granted for having come out in 1993 this record is pioneering, but 12 years later it has just faded. I got Codeine around about the same time (the band on Sub Pop, not the drug) and both put me to sleep. 'Autopilot' is by far the most interesting thing on the disc.
